Casino Helsinki’s Eeva Sirkka Wins ECA Slot Floor Employee of the Year Award

Casino Helsinki’s Casino Host Eeva Sirkka has been awarded the European Casino Association (ECA) Slot Floor Employee of the Year award at the ICE Barcelona gaming exhibition on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.

Together with its strategic partners and the organisers of ICE, Clarion, IGT, Aristocrat, L&W and Novomatic, the ECA has long sought to highlight the expertise of slot floor professionals in casinos. These awards were presented for the first time in this format.

-The service provided on the slot floor plays a crucial role in the success of the entire casino and in the overall customer experience. I am truly delighted about Eeva’s win. It is a significant achievement for her personally, as well as for Casino Helsinki and Veikkaus, says Tiina Siltanen, Director of Casino Helsinki and Vice Chair of the ECA Board.

Eeva was informed of her selection among the top three finalists about a week earlier, after which travel and work arrangements were quickly made to enable her to attend the event in person. The trip proved worthwhile, as Eeva returned home with the travelling trophy awarded to the winner.

-The win makes me feel very humble — it feels a bit like being nominated for and winning an Oscar. I did not win alone; this award belongs to the entire Casino Helsinki staff. The casino is like a second home to me, and my colleagues are like family. We have a great team spirit, and that is something our customers can feel as well, Eeva says and adds:

-It is fantastic that a competition like this exists. Too often the focus is solely on gaming operations, even though the casino world is about so much more.
