Veikkaus and Casino Helsinki receive full marks for responsibility
Veikkaus has been working diligently on various aspects of responsible gambling for a long time, and this effort was rewarded for the first time with full marks in all eleven areas of the European Lotteries’ responsibility audit.
The EL certificate was achieved for the sixth time, with the first being in 2009 among the initial member companies.
In the latest assessment, Veikkaus also received full marks in the “Game design” and “Digital channels” categories. Factors contributing to this include our ethical evaluation tool for the product development process, Gamgard, and our updated and actively used game harm prediction and care measures.
The audit was conducted, as in previous years, by the Dutch Global Gambling Guidance Group. The main audits are conducted every three years, with interim verifications ensuring continuous progress.
“I am extremely proud that we achieved full marks in all areas of the audit for the first time. Certificates are an important way to demonstrate that we are not only committed to responsibility but have been working on it for a long time and continuously evolving,” says Veikkaus’ Head of Responsibility, Susanna Saikkonen.
Responsibility certificate from the beginning
Veikkaus has also had the European Casino Association’s responsible gambling certificate from the beginning. This time, apart from Casino Helsinki, only one other European casino, in Luxembourg, received the renewed certificate.
“The ECA certificate is proof of our commitment to responsibility. It is crucial for us to provide our customers with a safe gambling environment and comprehensive management tools to create long-lasting and sustainable customer relationships. It is great that Casino Helsinki is recognized and passed the audit with full marks,” says Veikkaus Casino Vice President, Tiina Siltanen.
Proof of the certificates is visible at the casino’s entrance, where stickers indicate a responsible gambling environment.
