Chinese New Year at Casino Helsinki on 17 February 2026

Casino Helsinki will celebrate Chinese New Year on Tuesday, 17 February, from 15–02. The occasion marks not only the transition to the Year of the Horse according to the Chinese calendar, but also a themed event at the casino featuring programme and atmosphere inspired by Chinese culture throughout the day. Admission to the event is free.

Chinese New Year is a colourful and deeply rooted cultural celebration characterised by themes of renewal, hope and togetherness. Traditionally, matters from the past year are brought to a close so that the new year can begin with a clean slate. New clothing symbolises fresh beginnings and prosperity, while elements such as the colour red and fireworks are associated with good fortune and protection against evil spirits. Officially, Chinese New Year is a 15-day celebration culminating in the Lantern Festival (Yuan Xiao Jie).

While it is not possible for the casino to observe all traditions in their original form, the themed day is designed to honour the rich cultural heritage of our loyal customers and friends through programme, flavours and atmosphere inspired by the celebration.
